Diagnostic Audiometry (Pure Tone Test) PTA
What is it?
The traditional hearing test, also known as the "(Pure Tone Test) PTA plays different sounds at multiple frequencies and pitches, and the lowest level the patient can hear are determined.
Who is it for?
It is used to determine the degree of hearing loss, whether partial or complete, as well as the type of hearing loss and the degree of speech interpretation. It is one of the most common tests for detecting hearing problems.
Tympanometry (Eardrum Test)
What is it?
This test measures the movement of the eardrum in response to pressure changes in the ear. It helps determine if there are middle ear problems, such as fluid buildup or a ruptured eardrum.
Who is it for?
It is used to evaluate middle ear problems.
Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)
What is it?
This test measures the brain's response to sounds and is used to detect hearing or neurological problems affecting hearing. Hearing aids and electrodes are placed on the head to measure electrical activity in the brain in response to sounds.
Who is it for?
It is typically used for infants or people who cannot participate in traditional hearing tests.
Videonystagmography (VNG) Test
What is it?
This test helps evaluate balance problems by analyzing eye movement when the patient is exposed to balance stimuli, such as moving the head or tracking moving targets. A small video camera attached to glasses is used to record eye movement.
Who is it for?
It is performed for people who suffer from vertigo or dizziness to help doctors determine the source of the problem.
Real Ear Measurements (REM)
What is it?
A technique used to individually adjust hearing aids. This technique measures the ear's response to different sounds to ensure the hearing aids deliver sound in the optimal manner for the patient.
Who is it for?
It is primarily used to adjust users' hearing aids and ensure they deliver the ideal volume level based on their hearing needs.
